Welcome to the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood If you are new to the area or even if you are a native Portlander, you may not be familiar with our city's unique system of Neighborhood Associations. Neighborhood Associations are the officially recognized voice of Portland's 95 neighborhoods. As a basic building block of democracy in Portland, these Associations are a powerful resource which draw together a diversity of people who are concerned with issues affecting the quality of life in their neighborhoods. Participation is voluntary and open to all residents who live, own property or a business within its boundaries. Geographic Boundaries of Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association Located in North Portland, Oregon, ALNA’s geographic boundaries are Interstate 5 to the East, the North side of Ainsworth to the South, Chautauqua to the West and the South side of Lombard to the North. You can find a map of the neighborhood here. Your Neighborhood Association Advocates Represents neighborhood interests to local government. Studies & Plans Develops neighborhood plans and identifies community priorities. Reviews Public Policy Reviews and offers advice on critical community issues. Communicates Discusses issues through forums/meetings, newsletters, online forums. Organizes Community Activities Block parties, picnics, clean-ups, and tree plantings. How You Can Make A Difference Organize Join a committee to work on issues or events you care about. Participate Volunteer to help at events, host a block party, or organize an activity. Attend Association Meetings Discuss important issues with neighbors. Join the Board of Directors Plan priorities and make decisions. North Portland Neighborhood Services, funded by and operating in collaboration with the Office of Neighborhood Involvement, provides support, technical assistance and fund management to the volunteer-based neighborhood associations participating in efforts to enhance the livability of their neighborhoods.
