Arbor Lodge Newsletter – June 2026

Message from the Chair

We’re very excited to see how many neighbors are participating in this weekend’s 5th Annual Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Yard Sale. Thank you to Danielle Alexander for making this magic happen year after year.

This weekend is also going to be hot. 🥵 Please be careful to stay cool and hydrated. If needed there are great resources from the city and county, and even information a neighbor sent us (below) from Energy Trust of Oregon.

Due to the heat, the Monday, June 15 trash pickup at the arbor lodge shelter is cancelled.

Thanks!

Kevin Micalizzi, Chair, Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association

Arbor Lodge Shelter

Shelter Updates

  • Huge thanks to our wonderful neighbors for providing our shelter with donations from our supply list within the Arbor Lodge newsletter. Those items have filled gaps for us that have otherwise depleted or have been challenging to maintain.
  • We’ve been supporting shelter closures this month by taking in folks at risk of losing their bed. This supports their progress without disruption and eliminates the risk of putting individuals back out onto the streets. With this, our waitlist for other referrals has halted.
  • Huge thanks to Namaste on 82nd, they’ve provided our shelter with 100 meals/month!
  • Our shelter is looking for gently used men’s and women’s clothing and shoes; geared towards warmer weather. Feel free to call the front desk at 503-512-6633 to connect on drop-off support.
  • Our shelter has encouraged heat illness prevention support of our participants and has encouraged staff to be aware of heat illness signs within our participants. One of our neighbors donated water bottles and this has been an awesome support element to encourage the folks we serve to consume more water. We even labeled the bottles with names so they could keep track of them!
