In case you missed it - N Greeley Neighbors Showed Up Big Time

Thank you to the 60 neighbors who packed the Madrona Hill Cafe for a North Portland Traffic Safety Open House October 25th. Sharing stories of traffic impacts on our neighborhoods makes it clear that we have so much work to do to improve safety. Keep showing up! If we all work together, we can make our neighborhoods the safe, walkable, bikeable, playable places that make living here so beautiful. Thank you to BikePortland.org for showing up and writing about the event, to Madrona Hill for hosting, and our passionate neighbors for organizing. 

We will be in touch with people who shared their emails with us to pull together a follow-up meeting in the beginning of 2018 - after the holiday season settles down. With that said, we offer some concrete short-term steps that people can take in the meantime:

Registering your concerns with the Vision Zero program: Call 503-823-SAFE.Signage: Sign up to bring home some of those orange "Slow Down" signs. 

Continue to submit your concerns to our survey: HereFollow the Arbor Lodge Traffic Safety Google Group: Here.Creative Block Parties: Host an early-morning block party. It's as easy as completing an online permit request, paying $10, and setting up some barricades.

Advocate with State Reps: Show up to our State Representatives' Town Hall November 4: Please join Lew Frederick, State Senator, Oregon District #22, Representative Tawna Sanchez, and Tina Kotek for a town hall on November 4. They will debrief the 2017 session, discuss some community issues, and share what they’re hearing about the 2018 session. Bring your questions and priorities for North and Northeast Portland!

Track State funding for transportation and weigh in on behalf of traffic safety for all users: Follow the Oregon process for distributing money to transportation projects in the 2021-2024 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). Projects in the STIP are funded with taxpayer dollars, so ODOT is making every effort to get input from Oregonians about how they spend these funds. Check it out at oregon.gov/ODOT/STIP: On the website you can: Take a survey to provide input on funding priorities; Sign up for our STIP email list to get regular updates; Watch a new video to learn STIP fundamentals; Keep current by viewing videos and materials from the Oregon Transportation Commission meetings and read monthly STIP updates.
