Parks and Playgrounds, oh my!

It's time . . . . our 1st work party of the year is set for March 11th, 9-12.We work to maintain our pesticide/herbicide free status at Arbor Lodge Park and Harper's Playground. You can help!  Volunteer what time you have between 9-12 on March 12th.  We will weed around trees, spread bark mulch, weed in the Playground, sweep sand back into the sandbox, etc.  We might flameweed the baseball infields (only adults for this part of the work party). We'll have snacks and water. We also have $$ to buy lunch for the 1st 15 volunteers.  So come, work a little, and have lunch with your neighbors afterwards - we'll go to a local restaurant.  It is all about the Park/Playground and neighbors getting to know each other to support our Park/Playground together.Love your Park!future work parties this year:  May 13th, July 8th, October 14th, all 9-12Thanks for volunteering.

Join Us: Neighborhood Meeting 2/16

We're hosting our monthly neighborhood meeting this coming Thursday, February 16, 2017, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome - including your kids if you think they won't mind engaging in their own self directed activities!

We'll be hearing from Portland Public Schools about upcoming bond issues at high schools, updates on development in the neighborhood, and doing a bit of planning for spring activities.

Hope you can join us!

Update: January 20th 2017

Thank you!Today about 15 people showed up, some with kids, all to help us keep Arbor Lodge Park and Harper's Playground pesticide/herbicide free.

We picked up sticks and limbs brought down by the weather in the past few weeks.  We drank coffee and cocoa, ate snacks, and got to know more neighbors.

Next work party:  March 11th, 9-12, meet at the west baseball diamond nearest to Greeley to get started.  Hope to see you there.

Thanks again to all who showed up!

Tidy Up on Inauguration Day

Join us on Friday, January 20th at Arbor Lodge Park/Harper's Playground, 9-11 for an alternative and giving back to the community on Inauguration Day.  This is sponsored by ALNA and PDX Parent Cares Family Volunteer Weekend. We are one of 12 sites around Portland participating in this city wide event. We won't work too hard or too long - we'll pick up all those limbs and sticks blown down and gather them along the pathways for Parks & Rec staff to take away.  We'll spread some bark mulch around shrubs and trees.  We'll drink hot coffee and cocoa from Posette's and eat provided snacks, celebrate our community - then go home happy to have met new neighbors and helped our Parks/Playgrounds.  Hope to see you there!  Meet at west baseball diamond, behind the backstop (where we have a tool shed) off Dekum (nearest diamond to Greeley)  Thanks!
