6:30 – Introductions, any additions to Agenda by those present

6:40 –  Update on Chair meeting from Bob

6:50 - Guest - Donna Cohen to discuss issues at Roosevelt’s proposed STEM space and how we can help

7:10 - Review draft of education policy from Elijah and Nicole

7:20 - Feral cat presentation

7:30 - Vote on letter stating opposition to LNG transfer station.

7:40 - Land Use update:- PDC's ongoing plan to improve a stretch of Lombard.  Do we want to add coments to the comprehensive plan’s “map app” for the Lombard area as requested by city (Leslie Lum)- Ongoing efforts with other N Portland neighborhoods to work on design guidelines and improving the design review process

8:00 - Discussion of city’s Transportation Systems Plan:

- Do we want to vote to support any of the possible transportation improvements in our area? Potential improvements include the pedestrian crossings over I-5, the Larrabe viaduct and bike safety, improvements along Lombard and improvements to Columbia.

Opportunities to learn about Fruits of Diversity Community Orchard

Portland Fruit Tree Project and Village Gardens would like to invite you to a community planning and info session for Fruits of Diversity Community Orchard. We are about to start up our tree care season for 2015 and wanted to get the word out. This is a chance to learn about the orchard, meet other folks who are interested, or voice any feedback you may have about Fruits of Diversity. Both past and new volunteers are welcome to attend.

The session will take place on Wednesday, February 11 from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at 4610 N Trenton St, Rm 106 (just a couple of blocks down the street from the orchard and next to the Village Gardens office). Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by emailing Gareth at gareth@portlandfruit.org or by calling 503-284-6106.

If you can't make it, we'd love to see you at the first work party of the year, on Saturday, February 21st and 10:00 AM, where local landscaper Max Floyd will be leading the group in Winter Pruning. More information about the work party can be found at www.portlandfruit.org

Update: December 17th 2014

Want to help hungry kids in Arbor Lodge?

Sure.  How?  Take some apples, oranges or tangerines to Ockley Green School today or Thursday.  The front door is on Montana, just north of Ainsworth.  This fresh fruit will go out in backpacks on Friday the 19th, the last day of school for 2 weeks!  You can help feed a hungry kid is Arbor Lodge, 70 kids benefit from the backpack program.  Other shelf stable food also accepted, yet emphasis is on the fresh fruit this week.  Thank you!!!
