Update: April 12th 2015

Trash Pick Up today a success and lots of fun!

Thanks to Casey W. for suggesting and organizing our 1st Arbor Lodge NA Trash Pick Up.  This morning 7 adults and 1 energetic young man (Jesse) picked up trash along Interstate between Rosa Parks Way and Interstate.  Watch for your chance to join the group next month!  Here's a pic of the group.

Help us start the first-ever Arbor Lodge Livability Team!

We're in the beginning stages of forming a "Livability Team" and YOU just might be the person to pitch in and help. Supplies, training and cheer-leading provided!

What's involved?* Reporting and removing graffiti with safe sprays and scrubbing tools.* Taking walks in selected areas (you select the area) to pick up trash with gloves and trash picker-uppers.* Noticing and reporting safety issues to the City - again, training provided if requested.

Sometimes, the groups do their graffiti work and then go out to coffee or lunch, others just meet to "do the work." In either case you can help shape the group, meet more neighbors, learn your neighborhood, and make it a safe and clean place to live.

Do you have a pick up truck?

If so, and if you like to help out neighbors in need, have we got a gig for you! This is a special attempt to help our senior or disabled neighbors participate in the Clean Up on April 25th.  We will screen calls and only send you out to pick up things we can take that fit in a pick up bed from seniors and those with a disability.

Help us help neighbors get their "junk" to the neighborhood's annual Cleanup. We hope for 2-3 pickups and a driver and helper for each pick up, so please let us know if you can be part of such a team.  Thank you!

When?   Saturday, April 25th, any time between 9-2What?    You and a helper - you bring a friend or we provide you with a team member, go to specific addresses and pick up the things this person cannot physically lift, and transport to the Clean Up.Why ?  To help neighbors participate in cleaning out their junk.  And, all donated funds go to support the August Movie in the Park

Join our roster of neighborhood walkers!

We're seeking 20 volunteers to distribute fliers - are you one of them?

We think that delivering flyers door-to-door is the best way for us to let people know that we exist and that they can get involved. We do a big push each spring to get the word out about our annual cleanup fundraiser and summer events.

Our neighborhood area is big enough that we need extra volunteers to help with this task each spring - can you help?

When:  Early to mid April (likely April 10-17)

What:   Walking fliers door to door to advertise/inform all of the Clean Up set for April 25th

How:   You pick a walking route, chose your own time to walk, and leave flyers on people's doorsteps

Benefits:  Exercise, getting to know the neighborhood, maybe meeting a new neighbor, and helping us advertise our annual cleanup that raises funds for the Movie in the Park!

How do I volunteer?  Call or e-mail Sharon Parker
