Tofurky Trot
If you haven't already heard, your Arbor Lodge neighbor, Molly, is putting on a Thanksgiving morning 5K fun run. You're invited to walk, skip, run (or any other way you'd like to get around) through scenic North Portland.
There are no prizes (unless you bring them and award them yourself), no commemorative t-shirts, no timing clock, and no required Tofurky eating. Just your friendly neighbors and some pastries and drinks at the finish line!
The Tofurkey Trot will begin at 8:00 AM, Thursday, November 24th. The starting line is in front of the yellow house on Greenwich Avenue between Dekum and Bryant. Hope you can make it!

ALNA Board Meeting Tonight
There is an ALNA board meeting happening tonight at 6:30 in the upstairs meeting room in the Historic Kenton Firehouse. All neighbors are welcome.

Portland Plan Hearings
The Planning and Sustainability Commission is seeking public participation regarding the proposed Portland Plan. There are hearings scheduled around the city, and the first one will be next week in North Portland.

Crime Prevention
As you've likely heard, there have been some arson incidents recently in North Portland. Mark Wells, Crime Prevention Coordinator, spoke at our last neighborhood meeting and gave the following advice:
Test all smoke detectors
Remove anything flammable outdoors
Put away barbeque related items
Walk the perimeter of your house daily
Report anything suspicious
Most of the fires have started between 1:00 - 5:00 AM. For emergencies call 911. The non-emergency line is: 503.834.3333.

The Portland Plan
The Proposed Draft of the Portland Plan is available for review. The City is asking for comments through November 30th. Give it a read and send them your input!
