Proposed Bylaws Change
Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association is voting on whether to make a small change to its bylaws during the Membership Meeting scheduled for April 19, 2018 at the Historic Kenton Firehouse.
The proposed change is to the current Bylaws Section X. B. 3. Quorum. A “quorum” is a minimum number of people required by rule or bylaw to be present before business can be transacted by board of directors.
Currently, this section reads, “Quorum: A quorum shall be 50% plus one (1) of the filled elected Board positions. If a quorum is not present, no votes can be taken.” See the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association's website at http://www.arborlodgeneighborhood.com/p/bylaws.html for details.
The Board is proposing to change this language to read, “Quorum: A quorum for a board meeting shall be a majority of the number of directors in office immediately before the meeting begins.”
The Board is proposing this change to bring the bylaws into compliance with language recommended by the Office of Neighborhood Involvement’s Bylaws Template https://www.portlandoregon.gov/oni/article/502710 (see p. 22). This proposed change was introduced at the January, 2018 Membership Meeting.

PACE Planning is a team of five Master of Urban and Regional Planning students at Portland State University completing a capstone planning project for the WCMC (Willamette Corridor Mobility Committee). The project objective is to develop a community-driven active transportation plan that improves safety and accessibility along the N Willamette Blvd corridor, which WCMC can present to PBOT for implementation. The team will maintain contact with PBOT in order to ensure that the plan and outreach process are compatible with PBOT standards. The outreach process aims to gather input from stakeholders, community representatives, and residents who may use the corridor, with some engagement activities targeted towards groups who are less often involved in the planning process (youth, people of color, low income). We would like to introduce the project to the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association in preparation for a larger participatory engagement activity at the April meeting.

Update: March 5th 2018
The Free Fruit Tree Giveaway this past Saturday was a wonderful success and lots of fun. We gave away 49 trees to 42 people, drank coffee/tea/cocoa, ate cookies, and talked trees for a few hours.
We want to thank several businesses that helped make this all possible;
* Resilience Design - in Overlook - owned by Mulysa Melco
* Grindhouse/Sexy Coffee - Amanda donated the coffee
* Treecology - Certified Arborists Dayne Galash and Mark hung out and coached new tree owners with info on planting, site selection, pruning.
Please thank these businesses if you get a chance!
And look for a Tree Giveaway next February/March to build the Arbor Lodge Orchard in honor of Brian Duncan, Past Chair of the AL Neighborhood Association.
